1 month and 23 days! But who is counting? It seems that Joe's mom got herself into a little bit of trouble. She has started swelling in her feet and hands. Well this morning Mom was looking like Angelina Jolie. She started swelling in her face. She got into the doctor this morning. Since it was kinda urgent she took the first appointment they had with a different doctor. Mom's blood pressure was pretty high so they had her lay down. Mom's doctor heard that she was in the office and Dr. G wanted to see her right away. Because the blood pressure was so high and then dropped so fast after laying down that bought mom lots of lab work. But before she got to leave the doctors office she had to have her blood pressure taken again. It had gone up some but was still considered safe. So the doctor sent her home to relax and put her feet up. Dr. G called a few hours later and told mom that the lab work looks great but .....Heather needs to remember that she only has a few more weeks before the baby comes and that she needs to take it easy. This was a warning the next time it could be bed rest until the baby comes. Dr G. put here into her place very quick!

By now, Joe weighs 3.75 pounds and is about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in the uterus. Heather is gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to Joe. In fact, Joe will gain a third to half of his birth weight during the next 7 weeks as he fattens up for survival outside the womb. He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth.
